2005 Titans Red Win State Cup Championship
TITANS RED ARE U13B STATE CUP CHAMPIONS!
Bordentown, NJ – The OTUSA U13B Titans Red defeated Washington United Elite in the State Cup final 1-0 to win the NJYS President’s Cup! It was a physical, back and forth battle until midway in the first half when Washington was awarded a PK and narrowly missed wide. Momentum shifted a few minutes later when Carlos Ramos won a 50/50 ball deep in the attacking 3rd and launched a shot over the out stretched hand of the Washington goalie to put the Titans Red up 1-0. The Ocean defense was HUGE in the 2nd half as Washington tried to attack in numbers, but was turned away by a determined defense that refused to lose. Every Titan had a positive impact on the game as our aggressive, physical play was too much for Washington overcome. Titans Red will move onto the USYS Region I Championship in Virginia next June. The Titans Red would like to acknowledge and thank Tom Napoli and Frank Cocchi for everything they have done to train the team and get the boys mentally prepared to play at a high level. A big thank you to all of the parents, for their support paying, driving and cheering for the boys all year long. Most of all, we want to thank the boys of the OTUSA Titans Red for dedicating themselves and doing the work that it took to get them a state cup championship. It is an honor and a privilege to coach these young boys and we are ecstatic that their hard work has paid off. The path forward will be full of challenges on the field and off, but we will face them as a team and together we will be able to conquer anything that we find in front of us.
Titans Red has still has 3 EDP games and a 3rd round EDP Open Cup match to play so we have to stay focused and finish the season strong!
